About

Strengthening the relationship between Labour politics, local communities and the future of places across Britain.

Across the country, many people feel increasingly disconnected from politics and from decisions affecting their everyday lives. In towns, cities and neighbourhoods alike, communities often feel overlooked, unheard and uncertain about the future. Trust in politics has weakened, participation has declined and many people no longer feel a strong connection to political institutions or parties, including Labour itself.

At the same time, communities continue to hold enormous strengths. Across Britain, people are supporting one another, organising locally, building projects, campaigning for change and working to improve the places they care about.

Labour Community was created from a belief that Labour politics is strongest when it is rooted in communities, connected to everyday life and shaped by the lived experience of the people it exists to represent.

What we believe

Labour politics is strongest when it is rooted in communities, connected to everyday life and shaped by the lived experience of the people it exists to represent.

Our approach

Practical. Grounded. Listening first.

We are not trying to create another Westminster-focused political organisation or a traditional think tank.

We want to encourage practical organising, thoughtful policy discussion and new approaches to participation that feel grounded in the everyday experience of communities themselves.

Because we believe the future of the country will depend not only on national government, but on whether communities themselves feel connected, resilient and able to shape their own future again.

Our vision

Britain rebuilt through stronger towns and communities.

Labour Community believes Britain's future will not be shaped through Westminster alone. It will be shaped through stronger towns and cities, stronger communities and a renewed culture of participation, belonging and local pride.

We want to help strengthen a Labour politics which feels more rooted, more practical and more connected to the everyday lives of people across the country — built not only around government, but around community renewal, local relationships and shared participation in shaping the future.
